URGENT YACHT DELIVERY

We are highly conscientious in every aspect of your yacht delivery, providing a highly experienced and professional team to deliver your yacht.  From the outset, we take time with our clients to ensure that we fully understand their expectations and the planning of the trip.  The whole trip is organized and planned by us, after consultation with you, therefore it is not necessary for a formal handover from the owner or representative. Every delivery is carried out in the most professional and careful way by a highly experienced and well-qualified Skipper. Throughout the voyage, your boat is sailed/motored conservatively to ensure that any wear and tear is kept to an absolute minimum. Owners are welcome to join the crew for all delivery trips at any stage. We can provide crew at all levels of experience to assist an owner who would like to skipper the passage themselves. Throughout the delivery, we keep you up to date and informed as to the progress of your boat. On completion of the delivery, we complete a log and detailed assessment of the vessel and systems so that owners have a complete and thorough picture of the boat’s condition. This enables you to effect any repairs/modifications as necessary. Our pricing is as inclusive as possible, covering Skipper and crew costs, travel to and from the yacht, in addition to all necessary charts and almanacs.

TECHNICAL SERVICES

Maintenance schedules would be written up for every system onboard and the frequency of when it should be serviced and when the next service is due.

Examples of this would include engine service schedules, battery inspection, winch servicing, through hull services, sail maintenance, generator servicing schedules, bright work & topsides maintenance.

We would write an itinerary for you to keep and fill in as applicable, alternatively, we would be happily put forward one of our own trusted, recommended and professional engineers to systematically service any equipment cognoscente of the manufacturers’ guidelines.

A number of our skippers have wide experience in boat building, engineering, and other related trades, which enables us to offer supervision, specification, and organization of maintenance, repair and refit activities.

SKIPPER AND CREW SERVICES

Yachts require a skilled and pleasant crew, from qualified and experienced captains to capable deckhands. They are in the front line to provide the comfort, safety, and hospitality that you, your personal guests or charter guests require. Our skippering service is for yacht owners who would like a skipper to take control of their yacht/boat delivery, assist in gaining confidence and to help you become more familiar with your yacht. You may require this skippering service for additional help with a new boat purchase, someone to help guide you in passage making, navigation, and general boat handling. We can arrange Own Boat Tuition for owners who would like instructing in a familiar environment – on their own yacht. We regularly provide a skipper to assist owners and their families who would prefer someone experienced to take the hard work out of the voyage so you can enjoy your trip knowing that your yacht is safe. In addition to providing Skippers, we can offer a 1st Mate or crew member, who would be able to assist you or your skipper. This is beneficial for example if you require someone reliable and experienced on board for a particular trip, for maintenance, guarding or general crew duties. As part of this Skippering Service, we often provide a skipper to take care of the on-going maintenance onboard. Ongoing maintenance and care are needed with every yacht/boat to keep her in good condition and ready for use, and we regularly provide a skipper to perform these tasks for our yacht owners. Assisting with your first Trans-Atlantic, trip to the Mediterranean, across Biscay and out of the Channel, or closer to home, we can provide the right person for the task with our skippering service. Rest assured, they will be reliable, qualified, friendly and professional.

YACHT MANAGEMENT

Yacht management service is very flexible and can be tailored to the individual requirements of each owner. Under a typical arrangement YDS provides a Skipper, with the additional crew if required, for a set number of weeks each year to ensure that the yacht is ready to use, when and where you want, it at all times. We provide central office support to ensure that all maintenance, spares, guardian, marina bookings, commissioning and de-commissioning are handled, efficiently and professionally. If required we can also arrange limited chartering to enhance utilization of the vessel and make a contribution to running costs. We work closely with fleet managers and private owners to provide custom equipment lists to meet their needs. Without expensive retail outlets to maintain, we keep our costs low. We deliver directly from the warehouse to charter base, yacht or boat yard. Guardianage This is where we would work with you to agree on a schedule of Yacht Guardianage for your yacht. We would generally visit on a fortnightly basis, for example, to ensure everything is in perfect working order.
